National Libraries Day - TV interest and feedback

Thank you to everyone who has attended our National Libraries Day events organised with Kirklees Libraries at a time when many of our local libraries in Kirklees are under threat.

There has been some press coverage around the initiative in the Examiner and we even had an ITV Calendar local news crew reporting at Joanne Harris's event at Almondbury Library.

Erin Bolens at Batley Library

Meanwhile, Erin Bolens had some fantastic feedback from her poetry workshop held at Batley Library, including:

"Very good – gives me some ideas on how to improve on language and my daughter’s as well."

"Lots of fun but yet informative."

"Fab-u-lous! Well thought out and well executed interactive workshop."

"Very good – very relaxed and friendly, encouraging."

"Fun, icebreaking, fast paced, relevant."

"It’s hard to improve on perfection!"

"Very enjoyable two hours. Thank you. I’ve never written poetry before!"

"Had a great time. You’re simply sublime!"

"I really enjoyed this workshop, I think because of the interactive, spoken performance focus. I’ve attended many poetry workshops with written exercises, but this was so different and I see the appeal for young people. It’s great for older people too! Keep up the good work and well done."

Two final events on 14 February

Meanwhile we have two final library events this Saturday (see posters below) with Michael Stewart and Mary Lister - please come along and support your local library.
